●PROFILE for Overseas
In 1997, DJ Junko was introduced to HIP HOP music as a high school student and was completely mesmerized by 2PAC’s CALIFORNIA LOVE. She became interested in DJing and soon purchased her first set of turntables. Within a year she has landed a regular slot with DJ Tatsuta and Kreva at the club event Dynamite.

Although her playing is undeniably female, DJ Junko has won people over by incorporating a masculine edge to her style.

In March 2003, she was chosen as the 3rd artist alongside such heavyweights as DJ Masterkey and DJ Kaori on “Harlem in the Mix,” a nationally-released title and collaboration between Harlem, BMG, and Tommy Girl.

In March 2004, DJ Junko releases the first in a series of albums aimed at capturing the raw “streetness” of the music she loves. This effort, “Street To Da Fullest,” was the realization of that goal.
From 2005, DJ Junko begins accepting overseas gigs in Korea, Taiwan, and other markets.

In 2006, she releases “Party” from Next Entertainment, and “South To Da Fullest” from DJ Honda Recordings as volume 1 in the South Mix series.

As an events organizer, DJ Junko is active with Diamond @Club Harlem, where she books an exclusively-female cast.

Currently, she is based in the Kanto region but also holds regulars in Osaka.
